Opening of Xiangxuehai Garden

On March 5, 2024, Xiangxuehai Garden, a Suzhou-style garden donated by NJU Suzhou alumni was officially opened at NJU Xianlin Campus. Tan Zemin, President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the donation and opening ceremony of the garden.

Xiangxuehai Garden at NJU integrates the quintessence of Suzhou's classical garden culture. Encompassing a sprawling area of 10,970 square meters and centered around the theme of plum blossoms, the garden is divided into three main sections—Mei Hai (Plum Sea), Mei Shi (Plum Poetry), and Liu Fang (Flowing Fragrance)—comprising a total of 36 scenic spots. The funding for this remarkable project was a collective effort, with nearly a hundred NJU alumni in Suzhou generously contributing. The construction of the garden spanned a period of 14 years.
